SADDLES TO MEASURE

Riding as a sport is an Olympic discipline; it is also the leading women’s sport in France. Guy Chanel expertise meets the demands of high-precision equipment: saddles that are perfectly adapted to the rider’s size as well as to the morphology of the horse.

Saddles and equipment are designed according to the riding discipline practiced, including jumping, cross-country, dressage, hunting, polo, pleasure and children’s riding.
In order to ensure the saddle’s optimum performance and durability with age, Guy Chanel selects only top-quality materials.

The soft trees are made and reinforced according to his strict specifications. Leathers, which must meet demanding criteria, are selected from leading French and European tanneries depending on where they are used on the saddle: grained or smooth cowhide for the flaps; calfskin, bull-calfskin or buffalo hide for the seat and the olive pads; soft calfskin for the panels; ostrich, alligator and even skate-fish skin for creating and making certain highly special saddles.

Guy Chanel attaches particular importance to your comfort and that of your horse. The seat and panels of Chanel saddles are composed of superimposed shock-absorbent materials designed specifically to ensure you and your mount of maximum comfort. The panel design ensures optimum distribution of your weight over the pressure zones while avoiding any discomfort for your horse as he moves his dorsal muscles.

Guy Chanel saddles are custom-made by the same hand and based on various models from which all combinations are possible: seat size, flap size, leather, colours and finishing details. Each saddle thus becomes a unique object combining technical perfection, practicality, comfort, art and aesthetics. A saddle represents 25 to 40 hours of work and requires four square metres (13 square feet) of leather.

Your saddle is unique and numbered; its number and technical specifications are filed in our archives.
